We received the following information from the Alabama Department of Revenue:
We are aware of the issue Reject Code AL40-415. We are trying to discover the issue now.
At this point, returns should not be transmitted with Direct Debits becuase they will be rejected.
What does this mean for you?
You cannot select the Direct Debit method if you have a balance due for your Alabama return. We will update this blog when Alabama sends out updated information.
Alternate Payment Options
Credit Card payments may be made by telephone by calling 1-800-2PAY-TAX (1-800-272-9829) or over the internet by visiting www.officialpayments.com. Credit card payments can also be paid through LINK2GOV by calling 1-866-972-9829 or visiting www.ALTaxPayment.com or www.payaltax.com.
Officialpayments.com also offers e-checks for those who don’t want to put the bal due on a credit card.
